We are a society divided, in a time when coming together and understanding one another is critical.

Almost every day there’s another polarizing issue—from gun control to abortion, to policing, to race relations, from transgender to religious tolerance — most of the country is on “one side” or the “other”.

When we don’t know how to have constructive dialogue, we avoid any dialogue whatsoever, or worse the discourse escalates…

Everybody’s talking about it, but nobody knows how to fix it.

We decided to try. And it worked!

Introducing… the Behind The Glass Series

We brought 2 opposing groups together for the first time ever (Trump Supporters & Recent Immigrants, many undocumented) in what is now known as the Behind The Glass social experiment. Using a one-way mirror and innovative techniques from market research and psychology, we wanted to see if we could bring them together. The unthinkable happened – reconciliation, and common ground. The first episodes went viral very quickly.

Want to take a peek at the process to see how we got the two sides to come together?

After the two sides can’t agree, Elizabeth facilitates a discussion using a psychological technique. At the end of the 2nd clip, the two groups that were once so divided end in gratitude for each other! We haven't seen these two groups interact like this, until now. The experiment worked!

WHAT’S NEXT

We realized if the Behind The Glass method worked with these two groups, it could work for many others. Maybe we’re not so divided after all, we just need the right vehicle to communicate.

What if we did this again, and again with each of the most controversial issues of our time?

Our mission is to delve into many of the contentious subjects of today, using the Behind The Glass method to improve relationships, dialogue, and understanding across divides.
